Post processing of plastics

In our 55 years of activity with technical plastics, we have also expanded our possibilities for surface finishing. We offer a variety of surface finishing processes that increase the durability of your products and improve their overall material properties. Our processes visually enhance surfaces and give them an appealing feel.

Surface treatments

Ultrasonic cleaning

Ultrasonic cleaning is an advanced technology used in many industries to achieve thorough and effective cleaning of various materials. Ultrasonic cleaning generates high-frequency sound waves that are passed through the cleaning medium (e.g. water or cleaning solution). These sound waves create tiny bubbles in the cleaning medium that implode, creating a powerful cleaning effect.

Ultrasonic cleaning is particularly effective in cleaning finished plastic parts, as it is able to reach and thoroughly clean even hard-to-reach areas. The sound waves can penetrate deep into the surface of the plastic and remove even stubborn dirt without damaging the surface. Another advantage of ultrasonic cleaning is that it is a gentle cleaning method that does not require the use of aggressive chemicals. This protects the environment and protects the health of employees.

Overall, ultrasonic cleaning is an effective and gentle method for cleaning finished plastic parts, which is used in many industries to achieve thorough and effective cleaning.

Trowalization

The tumbling of finished plastic parts is a surface treatment process in which the parts are processed in a rotating drum with abrasives and an abrasive medium (compound). The process is ideal for deburring, polishing, breaking edges and rounding the edges of plastic parts. Trowalizing smoothes the surface of the parts and gives them an attractive feel. The process is also suitable for sensitive components and can be used for a large number of plastics.

Dry Ice Blasting

Ice blasting technology has proven to be an extremely effective method of cleaning and deburring plastic parts. This method uses the power of dry ice particles to clean and smooth the surface of plastic parts.

Ice blasting is a process in which dry ice particles are blasted at high speed onto the surface of the plastic part. The particles hit the surface and loosen dirt, grease and other contaminants that are on the surface of the plastic part. At the same time, the surface of the plastic part is smoothed and deburred.

Ice blasting is a gentle method of cleaning and deburring plastic parts as it does not use chemical cleaning agents or abrasive materials. It's also an environmentally friendly method as it doesn't generate any harmful chemicals or waste.

Hand Cleaning

Technical plastics are typically highly resistant to chemical and physical attack, but they can still be affected by dirt, grease, and other contaminants.

In order to remove contamination from technical plastic parts, it is important to choose a suitable cleaning method. One option is to use special detergents designed to clean plastic. These cleaning agents are usually alkaline or acidic and can be selected depending on the type of contamination and the plastic material.

Another option is to use soap and water (hand washing). However, care should be taken to ensure that the soap does not contain any aggressive ingredients that could attack the plastic. It is advisable to use a mild soap and not to let the water get too hot to avoid deforming the plastic.

After cleaning, the plastic parts are thoroughly rinsed with clear water to remove all resi-dues of the cleaning agent. The parts are then carefully dried to prevent the plastic from swelling or deforming.
