3D printed components for AMZ Racing's electric race car
We at Amsler & Frey AG are proud to support the Formula Student Team AMZ of ETH Zurich as a patron. As an innovative company, we like to support young talents in the practical application of their academic knowledge and support them, among other things, by providing them with the best possible technology and components.
Through our sponsorship, we were able to produce 3D printed components for AMZ Racing for their electric racing car named "castor" this year and deliver them personally in mid-March. This involves a total of more than 160 components for the battery unit, which, while meeting the required fire protection standard UL94 V0, must also ensure an optimized lightweight design and thus increased efficiency. FDM technology with the material ULTEM 9085 was used for this purpose.
Formula Student is a great opportunity for young engineers to demonstrate their skills and knowledge in a highly demanding competitive environment. We are very happy to have played a small part in this process and to see the students reach their potential.
We would like to congratulate AMZ Racing for their hard work and tremendous commitment to technology advancement, as well as racing, and are confident that they will perform great in the upcoming season.
